The Indian Roads Congress popularising modern idea on road development and road engineering by publishing original articles; capsules of information; abstracts from technical journals; results of applied research in the sphere of bridge and road construction; case histories of failures, unique problems encountered during construction, solutions found and lessons learnt. The Congress brings out following periodicals:

(i) Journal of Indian Roads Congress (Quarterly)

Journal is a quarterly publication which publishes Papers on Standards, Specification, Construction of important Road and Bridge works in addition to Sections on Plant, Machinery & Apparatus, Information Services, Research, Statistics etc The publication is divided into two parts, namely,

1. Discussion Section
   
   
2. Information Section
   
   Papers printed under Discussion Section are discussed at the Annual Sessions of the Indian Roads Congress. The comments offered by the members at the time of Annual Session or received through correspondence are later on published One volume of the Journal also carries the complete proceedings and speeches delivered at the time of Annual Session and Mid-term Council Meeting.
   
   Informatory Papers of very high merit are included under the Information Section.

(ii) Indian Highways (Monthly)

The monthly magazine contains original articles for the benefit of Highway Engineers who, owing to their pre-occupation with official duties, are not able to keep abreast of latest advances in the science of Road engineering. This periodical carries a lot of information of great value and of topical interests to Engineers as well as the general public.

(iii) Highway Research Bulletins

This publication is exclusively devoted to research Papers. These are published under four distinct topics, namely ‘Pavements’, ‘Soil Engineering’, ‘Traffic Engineering’, and ‘Bridge Engineering’. Two issues are printed in a year under the aegis if Highway Research Board

(iv) Highway Research Record(Annual)

This is an annual publication and contains the report of research work done in the country during the year and is based on information received from various Road Research Laboratories/Engineering Colleges/Govt. Departments/I.I.Ts/ Consultants. This report is discussed at the Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress.

All these publications are sent free to the members of Indian Roads Congress.

The real forte of the Congress lies in a large number of publications. These cover the following areas:
